Putrify allows the dragon to accelerate the rate of decay in a corpse, causing it to explode and spread disease all over its surroundings. Those unfortunate enough to be caught in the room when the corpse explodes will find themselves suddenly plagued with illness. Petrified corpses are invalid targets for this spell. Higher level corpses will tend to inflict more potent disease. Somewhat decayed corpses are not as effective as fresh ones. This spell has an above average drain on the Dracolich's phylactery.
