help > hero ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upon reaching 50,000,000 experience points a player will achieve hero status, that is, instead of just being level 19 you will now be 19+1. As a hero you will no longer earn experience as a normal player, but will have all experienced gained filtered through the hero filter. A new channel will also be made available to the new proud hero, the hero channel. To join it, just type hero /on. The rest of this help file will show a post taken from the Explorer's guild board. Wildcat posted it when the new hero system was brought into play, the post explains the filter and the reasoning behind it. Greetings all... A lot of people have been questioning when a Hero Replacement system will come into play, so we had brainstormed for a bit and came up with a workable solution that by the time you read this will be in place. The basic concept of the new system is that the cost to reach the new levels rises linearlly, however the experience you receive will be exponentially reduced. For each level of hero stature you attain, the experience you receive will be lowered by 2/3rds, and this effect is cumulative. However, the cost to reach each newer level will only increase 25 million. To demonstrate it better, look at this chart I've prepared comparing the old system with the new system, the first column is what level you are, the second is the experiences required to be that one previously, the third is how much xp needed to reach the next hero level. Finally we go to the new system, the 4th is how much is needed NOW to hit each hero level, followed by the static amount needed to hit the next level now, and the last column is what percentage of exp the level will keep. Level Old Exp Cost Next New Exp New Next New % +1 60M 40M 50M 25M 66% +2 100M 60M 75M 25M 44% +3 160M 80M 100M 25M 29% +4 240M 100M 125M 25M 19% +5 340M 120M 150M 25M 13% +6 460M 140M 175M 25M 8% While all of this may look excessive (I keep THIRTEEN PERCENT OF THE EXP I EARN AT +5?!?!?!) However, if you look at it from the point of view of how many monsters worth 20k exp it would require to reach each level (That's right another table) Column 2 shows how many to reach the next level before, column 3 how many total to reach that level. Column 3 is how many to reach the next level now, and the last column is how many to reach it totally. As you can see all the way up the scale it's actually easier. OLD NEW Lvl 20k total 20k total +1 2000 2000 1250 1250 +2 3000 5000 1875 3125 +3 4000 9000 2812 5937 +4 5000 14000 4218 10155 +5 6000 20000 6328 16483 +6 7000 27000 9492 25975 Finally, I will leave you with a chart that will show the previous and new experience amounts and what level you will be based upon it.
