You hold up the gem between the two staves. A glow of power starts to form between your fingers but as quickly as it started, it dissipates. Iniquitous cavern kill fighters destroy sigil

You open the book and begin to read. The book tells of a time, long ago, when
a cosmic war began among two races of incredible might and majesty, kin to the
gods themselves. The war was waged upon land, sea and even in the air above
the world. After a long time struggling, one of the races was thrown down and
returned to the sea from whence they once came. The timelines in the book
seem fantastic as the events occur over spans of eons rather than a mere
smattering of years as would be expected for a human race. The race that was
thrown down, it is written, waits even now for a time when the stars reach a
fore-ordained configuration, when they will rise again to enshackle the world
with their dark and mystical arts. At the end of the book, after many many
blank pages, is written: Tibi, magnum Innominandum, signa stellarum nigrarum
et bufaniformis Sadoquae sigilim. Upon reading the incantation, you feel a
stab of pain and the book itself vanishes.

To you, the great Not-to-Be-Named, signs of the black stars, and the seal of the toad-shaped Tsathoggua.
