Juggernaught
The Gnomes of Tsunami, tiring of being picked on because of their slight stature, have unleashed from Mt. Gnowhere their most fearsome creation, the Juggernaught. A massive support superstructure is plated with defensive armor, and a power plant installed to run the massive earth churning treads. A complex system of ropes, cables and pulleys enable the driver to steer the Juggernaught, or to operate its complex set of extensors, maulers, processing plant, cargo loaders, etc.
Only gnomes need apply to pilot these new devastating war machines. But the Juggernaught is a rather expensive piece of equipment to maintain. Additionally, severe damage can result in the destruction of pieces of the Juggernaught hardware that must then be repaired.

Class Commands
The unique commands of the Juggernaught class comprise
- Devastate - Deals major damage to a single target. Requires Devastators 1 upgrade .
- Maul - Temporarily reduces and damages the target's armour. Requires Mauler 1 upgrade.
- Process - Allows the Juggernaught to consume items to regenerate HP and SP. Requires Resource Processing upgrade.
- Scan - Gives additional information on a target's condition, including their current and maximum HP and SP. Requires Visualization System 2 upgrade.
- Trace - Shows directions to a target's location within a certain range of rooms. Requires Visualization System 3 and Drive System 3 upgrades.
Juggernaught Upgrades
The juggernaught upgrades are the most unique feature of a Juggernaught, influencing its combat performance, movement restrictions, and the pilot's ability to see its environment, among others. `display' will list your current upgrades, and cost to upgrade them further as well as your total available slots to upgrade. You get 3 slots per level and automatically start with 3 upgrades, so at level 1 you have NO FREE slots and will suffer from several significant impairments, such as being largely blind. Better get to level 2 ASAP!
`upgrade <component name>' will upgrade that component. There is a level requirement for some components so don't be shocked when you cant get level 5 weaponry at level 4. When you die, there is a chance a component will break, that sucks, oh well.
A Juggernaught's upgrade table will look something like this:
** Juggernaught Control Systems Mark IV ** Component Version Upgrade Cost -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armor Plating Enhanced Steel Plate 25000 Structural Integrity Laminated Wood Supports 5000 Drive Relay Simple Pulley 5000 Assault System Quadra-Assault Arms 25000 Drive System Wooden Slat Tread 5000 Automated Repair Roll of Duct Tape 5000 Visualization System Peep Hole 5000 Armor Coatings Leather Drape 1000 Cargo Loaders Under the Seat 1000 Resource Processing Wood Kiln 5000 Devastators Triaxial Steel Cables 25000 Mauler Grapplers 1000 Power Plant Coal Boiler 25000 Weapon System Copper Plated Extensors 25000 You currently have 3 available upgrades.
Each component has six upgrade levels, with a fixed cost for each level. The costs are:
- Level 1 - 250 dinars
- Level 2 - 1000 dinars
- Level 3 - 5000 dinars
- Level 4 - 25000 dinars
- Level 5 - 100000 dinars
- Level 6 - 200000 dinars
Some upgrades require prerequisites for their purchase and functioning. For example, very few upgrades can be of a higher value than the power plant. Additional prerequisites:
- Armor Plating 5 and 6 requires Armor Coatings 2.
- Structural Integrity 5 and 6 requires Armor Coatings 2.
- Assault System 4 requires Visualization 2.
- Assault System 5 requires Visualization 3.
- Assault System 6 requires Visualization 4.
- Power Plant 5 requires Resource Processing 2 and Automated Repair 2.
Upgrade Functions
The Functions of the different components are as follows:
Armor Plating: Just what it says, defensive armour plating.
Increases Defense
Structural Integrity: Provides additional protection to the pilot and internal components.
Improves Resistance skill
Drive Relay: This is an important trans-axle linking the power plant to your extensors. The better the relay system the more quickly you can attack.
Improves Attacking skill
Assault System: This is the complex system of cables and pulleys powered by the drive relay system. The more advanced this system the more accurate and powerful the extensor action.
Improves Combat skill
Drive System: This is the treads of the Juggernaught. Most importantly, this is where you get the command `overdrive'. When the Juggernaught is damaged it moves slowly, however, with overdrive, you can continue to move at normal speed for a sp cost for a certain number of movements. After enough damage, however, even overdrive will not enable the Juggernaught to move any faster. The higher the drive upgrade the more damage you can sustain before moving slow, and the more damage you can take and still operate overdrive.
Automated Repair: This upgrade causes the juggernaught to continually repair hit point damage (there is no effect on spell points). Additionally, this determines how much healing from a standard heal item/spell you receive. The higher the value, the closer to maximal benefit.
Increases HP regen
Visualization System: This system allows the pilot to better see his surroundings. It gives a bonus to night vision and awareness. Also, at level 2 you can use the command 'scan <target>'; at level 4 you can use the command 'scan area'. At level 3, with drive system of 3, you gain the command `trace`. Simply, <trace targetname> to trace them around the game.
Improves Awareness skill and the results of Scan
Armor Coatings: Each level of coating adds to the juggernaught's resistance to certain types of elemental damage; in addition, armor coatings make the juggernaught generally tougher. The resistance types are as follows:
1: Cold. 2: Shock. 3: Fire. 4: Acid. 5: Poison. 6: Psychic
Increases Elemental resistance mods and increases Defense. The effects are cumulative.
Cargo Loaders: Each cargo loader vastly increases the normally rather poor cargo capacity of the juggernaught; this is 10 with no upgrades, and each upgrade doubles carrying capacity.
Increases Carrying Capacity
Resource Processing: This set of upgrades enables the 'do process' command. In addition, resource processing allows consuming corpses for increased healing.
Improves efficiency of HP and SP regeneration from item and corpse consumption.
Devastators: This enables the "do devastate" command.
Improves the Devastate skill and cost and effectiveness of the command.
Mauler: This enables the "do maul" command.
Improves the Maul skill and cost and effectiveness of the command.
Power Plant: The power plant provides power for the juggernaught's system, causing you to regenerate spell points at an accelerated rate. In addition, the power plant, if not empty of power, acts as a self destruct mechanism; on death, the juggernaught explodes, hopefully taking any nearby victims with it.
Increases SP regen and causes massive area damage upon death.
Weapon System: This is the set of extensors currently available to the juggernaught; your upgrade level determines both power and what is available. The available weapon system types are:
Level 0: Basic Bladed Extensors (slash damage) Level 1: Advanced Rotating Extensors (cleave damage) Level 2: Steam-Powered Jackhammer (blunt damage) Level 3: Copper Plated Extensors (shock damage) Level 4: Nitrogen Cooled - Pneumatic Extensors (ice damage) Level 5: Naptha Thrower (fire damage) Level 6: Prismatic Assault Extensors (?) You may switch between weapon systems with the command 'rotate weaponry'. When you upgrade your Weapon System, the WC of all your weapons rises by 2, starting with 10 WC at level 0.
