Tsunami is one of the oldest original lpMUDs in existence, having been around since at least 1990. It has a long and glorious history. Tsunami features over 20 humanoid races and several nonhumanoid races (such as Dragons, Fey, Monsters, and Horrors!). Players can choose from over 65 elaborate, detailed subclasses spread over 10 guilds. You can own a house or run a business too!

The world of Tsunami is vast, consisting of over 15,000 rooms and a massive selection of areas to explore. Many fun adventures await including intricate quests, PvP Warfare, a collectible card game, and many more metagames.

Tsunami is ENTIRELY free (donations welcome via Patreon but not required) and all coders work here for the love of the game. Many have been doing it for over a decade and we are always looking for more new talented designers. Follow the links on the left to create an account, learn to play, and connect to this great MUD.

We'd like to take the time to thank those great patrons of ours including: Darkpoole, Brock, Marisil, Streak, Lif, Pythia, Russeldog, Xcheefoo, Morganti, Morgul, Sid, Orsk - It's thanks to you that Tsunami is still running.

House Upgrades - Accountant - Trix Fri, 13 Sep 2019 21:18:02 PST
You can now purchase house upgrades in your house. The first one available
is an accountant. The accountant keeps track of your house balance, and
will send you an email notification if your balance falls below a
definable threshold. By default all upgrades are off and will need to be
toggled on after purchased. There's only one catch: The accountant will
only send you emails if your email is verified.
Email Verification - Trix Fri, 13 Sep 2019 01:58:03 PST
You can now verify your email. Type 'verify email' to start the process.
Alternatively see 'help verify' for slightly more info. You might be
asking why you would want to do something like this, there's probably
going to be a feature that will require a verified email address. Maybe.
In the future. At some point.
NPC skill values - Ghyath Fri, 06 Sep 2019 20:45:57 PST
Probably for decades there was a bug (some might call it a feature, but I
don't) with NPC skill values. The idea was to make it scale slower than
player skills do and at level 16 it was supposed to even out.
Unfortunately there was a calculation error that caused NPCs of 16 and up
having always a level lower skill values than they were supposed to have.
This has been fixed now.
Meanwhile I moved the evening point further and now NPCs even with their
proper skill values at lvl 18.

Above being said NPCs now should perform as they were supposed to.
Veirges - Ghyath Fri, 06 Sep 2019 20:39:15 PST
Veirges is now lockerable.
Wiki - Krule Fri, 30 Aug 2019 22:06:17 PST
The wiki is up at http://www.thebigwave.net/wiki/
The wiki command should be working. 'help wiki'
You can bug issues to me.

Lag monster - Ghyath Tue, 13 Aug 2019 08:34:15 PST
Well, we all know there have been lag issues past few months and until very
recently there were only assumptions what might be causing it.
Yesterday Chaitan managed to detect the source and Misery helped us to get
rid of it, so big kudos to those two.
Screep area - Ghyath Mon, 12 Aug 2019 20:42:40 PST
Nothing special, but NPCs in the Screep area actually use their skills (aka
no more 'do breathe all' for dragons) and wield their weapons (aka no more
too weak to wield) properly now.
Wolfpack area - Ghyath Sat, 10 Aug 2019 23:07:43 PST
During my recent spree, I have updated part of Wolfpack area. Why only a
part? Well, I never knew it was so huge. And so outdated code-wise.
If you notice anything wrong (especially with description formatting),
please bug it to my name.

By the way, Pinkdaisy used to write a nice code. Really.
Porcine products quest - Ghyath Thu, 08 Aug 2019 20:15:51 PST
Those who manage tearing sows' bellies might find killing those harmless
piglets more rewarding than before.
Edo changes - Ghyath Thu, 08 Aug 2019 20:04:09 PST
Uba is now a proper banshee.
Sohei guards are no longer clueless bums with a big staff, but martial
artists now, so beware!
Meikishio - Ghyath Mon, 05 Aug 2019 19:56:39 PST
The great emperor Meikishio is now slightly more dangerous, but the weapon
he possesses might be worth getting specifically for low-hero samurais.
