help > vampire VAMPIRE (undead subclass) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vampires are powerful undead that subsist by drinking the blood of living creatures. They are incredibly tough, and very hard to kill. Their undead state tends to make them faster and stronger than an ordinary human. They suffer extraordinary weakness in daylight, finding it much more difficult to fight in such an environment. Vampires have the ability to drain the blood from a corpse and greatly increase their spiritual energy. Five vampire lords control the ranks of vampires scurrying about Tsunami. On occasion these dread lords have been known to war with each other, seldom do they ally. However, most of the time regard other vampire families with an arrogant indifference. Younger vampires should be wary when choosing a patron, for they commit themeselves to their dread lord for all of eternity. There is no betrayal for vampires. In pledging one's eternal loyalty, the fledgling vampire will gain some of the awesome power of his dark master. Strahd von Zarovich: Strahd is a master of deception. His abilities to both deceive the senses of mortals is just as legendary as his ability to deceive their minds. Vampires of Clan Strahd are particularly adept at dominating weak when they take the time to concentrate upon this task. Vlad Dracula: Dracula is a ferocious warlord. He rigorously trains his minions to use their vampiric form in combat. Although Dracula's charges are weaker with their fangs, they are experts with the weaponry of man. One of the mortals only contributions are tools of destruction. However, vampires of Clan Dracula spend so much of their time in their natural form that they are not as adept shapeshifters. These vampires struggle to assume their mist form, and cannot assume a form of the bat at all. Such is their fury however, that they attack more rapidly. Rhyser, the Beast Lord: Rhyser's instinctual mind combined with his vampiric power to exhibit shapeshifting powers unknown to others. The beast form of Rhyser vampires are considerably deadly. However, vampires of Clan Rhyser are unable to control the minds of mortals as effectively as their kin. This may be due to their primitive natures, or their lack of practice. Rhyser vampires have weak resistances and lose the armour skill. They gain the ability to thirst for an enemy's blood, driving them into a blood crazed frenzy with many benefits. Kronos, the Patriarch: Kronos is widely regarded as the oldest vampire in existence. His fortitude far surpasses even the amazing durability of other vampires . . . but not in day light. Kronos vampires burn in day light and receive additional damage from light spells. The regenerative abilities of Kronos are admired even by the trolls of the realm. Phobos, the Scourge: Phobos combined his terrifying visage with the unholy power of his vampiric form to bring new levels of fear to mortals. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vampires have the following skills: attacking armour dagger weaponry toughness staff resistance axe awareness sword 2-hsword bleed intimidate combat mace flail invulnerability gravemeld mesmerize stealth shapeshift regenerate celerity ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vampires have the following resistance adjustments: Cold, Drain, Poison : +25 Fire, Holy, Light : -20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vampire stats: Strength : 120 Dexterity : 110 Intelligence : 80 Constitution : 90 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vampires have have the following sight restrictions: Max Sight: Base Race - 2 Min Sight: Base Race - 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vampire Terrain Bonus: Building : +5 Water : -10 Underwater : -10 Town : +5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -BoBBo (15 NOV 96)- Updated 7-29-01 (Magius) Updated 08/20/03 (Flaggor) Updated 09/22/05 (Razan) |
