The shield wears out over time until it finally disappears. The caster can only have one magical shield up at any one time. You can also add an additional optional field when casting this spell. You may 'cast shield <type> <target>' where <type> can be 'acid', 'fire', 'lightning', 'poison', 'cold', or 'magic'. Please note that this is defensive and is unlike the other elemental shields Also, the spirit shields are not as specialized in the elements as shields in other spheres, therefore, they offer less resistance to the elements. Use 'cast shield dispel' to your current shield.
