help > spells > deathward ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spell : Deathward Class : Necromancer Cost : 20 (not adjustable) Casting time : 1 round Spell type : Protection Difficulty : Level 1 Syntax : cast deathward [type] [target] Examples : cast deathward corpseskin cast deathward souls thrax cast deathward cast deathward thrax cast deathward dispel Deathward allows the Necromancer to bind powerful protective magics to ward off the attacks of his assailants. The protection wears out over time and will eventually disappear. A player can only have one such protection at any particular time. You can 'cast deathward corpseskin' or 'cast deathward souls'. Casting corpeskin gives your outer layers the consistancy of dead tissue. This endows you with great protection from cold, poison and slashing weapons. It makes you very resistant to the bleeding effects of vampires. However, it gives you a vulnerability to cleave damage and makes you very vulnerable to fire. The shield of souls endows you with an aura of death and cold. Beings in close proximity to you will suffer cold type damage. You also become extremely resistant to drain. cast deathward dispel Will end your current ward. You can only end a shield cast on yourself. This allows you to shift between shield types. Both forms can be dispelled if someone casts a healing prayer on you. Liches, given their affinity with death, are better at casting this spell than other necromancers. This spell can be cast quietly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
